About Tyson Wesley

Prefers the four-hour director’s cut.

He’s a movie buff with a chill vibe and many hoodies, the ideal protagonist for a terrible early 2000s comedy where he realizes it was never about going to one last epic party before summer ends. It’s about hanging with your bros.

Q&A

Q&A

  • Who is your favorite real-life genius?

Spike Jonze, easily. His films (and him sprinting half-naked down the streets of Los Angeles on “Jackass”) gave me the courage to ask myself, "What if I could do that?" You watch his films and think, "Wait, who made this?" Genius.

  • When you’re not working, you’re most likely…

Being basic. Not proud of it. Sports. Gaming. Film. Unfortunately a Michael Jordan stan. Unfortunately beaten Elden Ring 16 times. Unfortunately a big Letterboxd guy. You know, one of those dudes.

  • What is the single greatest creative work you’ve ever experienced?

As much as I want to say “Big Daddy” (all 500 times I've seen it), the answer is Béla Tarr's “Satantango.” You just need to set aside 14 hours to truly experience it the right way. Seven hours to watch it and another seven hours to stare blankly at a wall afterward and contemplate existence.
