When delving deep through
dungeons and fighting dragons,
life is a dice roll.
Jonathan was born in Dallas, Texas and lived in Irving until the year 2000. That was when his father, a movie enthusiast, got a job at Belhaven University. Watching movies with his dad led to his fascination with every aspect of filmmaking and resulted in them making their own home movies. Years later, he’d join Belhaven’s film department to further his knowledge of filmmaking and begin his career behind the scenes.

I’m married to my beautiful wife Sara; we want a dog, but our apartment doesn’t allow pets.
What are your hobbies? What’s your passion?
I like playing Dungeons and Dragons with my wife and friends. I also play video games, and of course, I watch movies. I am passionate about working behind the scenes on video productions whether it’s for a movie, music video, or even a thirty second spot. My main goal is to work my way into a position where I can make creative decisions and, one day, feature films.
How did you hear about Mad Genius?
Technically, the first time I heard about Mad Genius was on a high school field trip. But the more relative answer is that I got in touch through the Production Designer for a feature film I worked on. Thanks Peter!
What is the one thing no one really knows about you?
I think math and science are cool. I like the logic behind them.
Tell us about your first day at Mad Genius.
It was mostly a rundown of where all the equipment is and getting introductions to the staff. I still don’t know everyone’s names.
Of all the world’s geniuses, whom do you most admire?
J.R.R. Tolkien, Bill Watterson, Brian Regan, George Lucas, Damien Chazelle, Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, and the person who invented the machine that de-shells pistachios.
