Mad Genius: Scholastic Tenure
Over the past 15 years (almost as long as our labs have been open), Mad Genius has worked with over a dozen higher education institutions. Our expertise in this field ranges from logo and branding evolutions to innovative website experience builds to full-scale video production. We do it all.

From capital campaigns to image spots, we’ve created unique and memorable work for educational institutions such as The University of Southern Mississippi (USM), Jackson State University (JSU), Mississippi State University (MSU), Delta State University (DSU), Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC), Itawamba Community College, Northwest Mississippi Community College (NWCC), Tougaloo, Alcorn State University, Mississippi Valley State University, and Hinds Community College. Recent Example: The University of Southern Mississippi
For USM, Mad Genius produced a series of TV spots promoting the idea that USM provides an environment where students can “soar” to greater and greater heights, like their mascot, the Golden Eagle. We also created a capital campaign that was recently launched called “Give Wing.” This campaign asked the community to support USM’s efforts in student success, academic excellence, and innovation and discovery. As part of this campaign, Mad Genius produced inspirational photography of students and successful alumni who have benefitted from these efforts, noted by the change in the subjects’ shadows.
Recent Example: Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
We have also worked closely with MGCCC in various ways, including a total rebuild of the MGCCC website, the development of TV spots, and ongoing print, digital, and Facebook advertising campaigns. As part of our ongoing partnership with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Mad Genius produced two television spots to showcase student life and programs for workforce development. When building on their “Do More” campaign, our goal was to help the public visualize just how much more MGCCC truly is.
Recent Example: Phi Theta Kappa
Our passion to help students doesn’t always go through the schools… Recently, Mad Genius worked with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK), a century-old institution dedicated to helping students get the most out of student life while preparing them for success in whatever career they choose. We had a great time working on their brand, building them a new website, shooting photography, creating a video, and a few more things here and there. Like we said earlier, it’s easy to get behind students’ success.
