What You'll Do

As a Media Strategist, you’ll research, experiment, and optimize in both the traditional and digital spaces. You will collaborate with in-house developers, designers, animators, illustrators, video producers, copywriters, and the account team to build strategies that generate results. From negotiating rates with media outlets and vendors to presenting trends, successes, and opportunities to clients, you will be challenged to pursue what is next over what is now. You’ll also feel peer pressure to have Star Wars toys in your workspace—you can pick the trilogy.

What You'll Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, psychology or a related field from a four-year college or university, or…
  • Three or more years of media marketing experience, preferably at an agency
  • Knowledge of traditional media markets in The South, especially Mississippi and neighboring states
  • Expertise in maintaining and managing media relationships and follow-through with market sales reps, sales managers, general managers, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret standard documents, journals, and reports
  • Know-how to write reports, presentations, and general business correspondence
  • Skills to write winning strategic mixed media proposals (traditional and digital) and effectively deliver presentations to senior management, prospective clients, and existing client
