What is your hometown?
I’m from the oldest city on the Mississippi River, Natchez, MS. Being from Natchez is like being from another country, unless you are from there, you won’t understand.
Share a bit about your Family.
My husband, Chuck and I have been married for 20 years. I treasure everyday with that crazy man. We have two, four-legged children; our big ole Lab, Tucker and our little diva, Giselle, the miniature Poodle. Both are adopted and Chuck and I are avid supporters of “Adopt, don’t shop!” You don’t want to know how we feel about breeders for profit.
What are your hobbies? What’s your passion?
I’m a bit of a Diva myself, I love anything feminine; clothes, make-up, jewelry, purses, etc. My passion has to be my relationships with my Lord, family and friends; they are what sustain me every day in this insane world. And, I LOVE SEC football, especially the TN Volunteers. I can watch football all day Saturday and Sunday too. I can’t get enough – thank you very much Henry Martin for instilling the love of SEC football in his children.
How did you hear about Mad Genius?
In a former life, I worked for another local advertising firm. I knew of Mad Genius through word of mouth, advertising is a very small, connected world.
Tell us about your first day at Mad Genius.
I felt like I was where I belonged – AT LAST!!! I could breathe and I knew I could be happy here. I was right.
What’s your greatest accomplishment (or what have you enjoyed most) at Mad Genius?
Every day, I have opportunities to build strong, working relationships. I don’t take that lightly, and I love talking, laughing and being able to help people. The first time a client told me I was a pleasure to work with and that I made their job easier was a great feeling.
What Genius memory(ies) stand out?
During work hours, my first week here, the office closed down and took everyone to the movies!! I thought that was so great that a company appreciated their employees enough to actually do something fun with them outside of work.
What’s your most NON-Genius moment at Mad Genius?
I forgot to do something very important and I was so upset – I knew I was a goner!!! When I mentioned it, I was met with laughter and together we corrected the issue. What an amazing feeling to know you are allowed to be human.
What is the one thing no one really knows about you?
Why would I tell you now? Honestly, I’m pretty much an open book, not many deep, dark secrets. I do love fruitcake though.
Of all the world’s geniuses, whom do you most admire?
My mom, June Bourke Martin; not technically a genius by definition but was damn admirable!!
